Digital Ad Transfer

Print This Page

The Calgary Herald is fully set up to receive your electronic ads, whether you send your files via the Internet or on disc. You can send your files from either Macintosh or PC platforms. Please follow this list of procedures when transmitting your files electronically.

Submitting PDF Files

When creating the pdf file, certian software programs like Adobe InDesign and Quark Xpress will allow you to set an export standard. The one that is recommended is the PDF/X-1a:2001 standard.

Bleed Ad Material

The Herald produces a number of publications that offer advertisement space designated to bleed. Unlike normal ad space whose requirements display and print the entire “Image Area”, bleed ad space must account for “Image Area”, “Trim Area” and “Bleed Area”. If you are not familiar with these terms, please contact your Sales Team for details to help ensure you provide properly laid out and sized material.
