The Calgary Herald was first published on August 31, 1883 by Andrew Armour and Thomas Braden as The Calgary Herald, Mining and Ranche Advocate and General Advertiser. Our newspaper has been through many iterations and locations since those humble beginnings in a tent by the junction of the Bow and Elbow Rivers.
Today The Calgary Herald stands as one of Canada’s most recognized major daily newspaper and has won numerous awards for editorial content as well as innovative design.
Now part of the Postmedia Network, the Calgary Herald remains Calgary’s best resource for advertisers as our readership continues to increase and reach an ever growing and diverse population. The Print Edition of the Calgary Herald now reaches nearly half a million Calgarians each week*. Combine that readership with our inserts and special features and the Calgary Herald continues to be the most effective way to spend your advertising dollar.
